Opening Thought
Think about how far we’ve come in this series. We started with a simple question: “What does it mean to walk with Jesus?” That question has turned into a clear picture of what daily discipleship actually looks like.
Not just believing in Jesus, but following Him with your whole life.
Today is about putting it all together.
The Big Idea of the Series
Walking with Jesus is a daily, growing, lifelong commitment built on relationships, habits, and endurance.
The Journey We’ve Walked
Week 1 – Walking with Jesus
We looked at Luke 9:23 and Hebrews 12:1-2
- Following Jesus is daily, not occasional
- It is a direction, not just a decision
- We fix our eyes on Him
You don’t just believe in Jesus. You walk with Him.
Week 2 – Deny Yourself
More Luke 9:23
- Discipleship requires surrender
- Jesus leads. You don’t.
- Following Him means letting go of self.
You can’t follow Jesus and stay in charge at the same time.
Week 3 – Abide in Jesus
John 15:4-5
- Connection is the source of life
- Apart from Jesus, we can do nothing
- Spiritual growth comes from staying close to Him
You don’t grow by trying harder. You grow by staying connected.
Week 4 – Feed Your Faith
Psalm 1; 2 Timothy 3:16-17
- Scripture is spiritual nourishment
- Consistency matters more than quantity
- God’s Word shapes how we think and live
A strong walk requires daily feeding.
Week 5 – Talk with God
Matthew 6:9-13; Philippians 4:6-7
- Prayer is relationship, not performance
- God invites honest, consistent conversation
- Prayer brings peace and connection
You don’t hear from God. You talk with Him.
Week 6 – Fight Sin
Hebrews 12:1-2
- Sin and distractions slow spiritual growh
- We must lay aside what holds us back
- Freedom comes through surrender and focus on Jesus
You can’t run the race while holding onto what weighs you down.
Week 7 – Walk Together
Hebrews 10:24-25
- We were never meant to follow Jesus alone
- Community provides encouragement and accountability
- Spiritual growth happens with others
Isolation weakens. Community strengthens.
Week 8 – Live It Out
Matthew 5:13-16; Colossians 3:17
- Faith shows up in everyday life
- We are salt and light in the world
- Everything we do should reflect Jesus
Your life is a message about who you follow.
Week 9 – Keep Going
Hebrews 12:1-2
- The Christian life requires endurance
- Faithfulness matters more than flashiness
- We keep going by fixing our eyes on Jesus
Don’t just start the race. Finish it.

The Core Question of the Series
At the center of everything we’ve studied is this question:
“Am I truly walking with Jesus or am I just around Him?”
We must always remember that there is a difference between knowing about Jesus and actually following Him.
Encouragement
You will not do this perfectly. You will struggle. You will fail at times. You will need to restart.
Discipleship is not about never failing. It’s about always coming back to Jesus.
Final Challenge
As you finish this series, choose one (or all) of these to commit to:
- Daily Walk
“I will intentionally follow Jesus each day.” - Core Habit
“I will stay consistent in one spiritual habit (reading, prayer, or both).” - Community
“I will not walk alone and I will not allow others to walk alone.” - Endurance
“I will not give up when it gets hard.”
Final Thought
Walking with Jesus is not a program. It is not a phase. It is not encaptured in a simple moment.
It is a life-long journey of following Him step by step. Don’t rush it. Don’t drift from it. Don’t quit.
Keep walking with Jesus.
